Eastern Kentucky Students Receive Career Insights From This Automotive Engineering Talent Solutions Company

Students at Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) are learning valuable insights for landing a job after graduation. Recently, students within the Pikeville Campus Electrical Department met with representatives from Actalent, an engineering and science services talent solutions company.

The collaborative session, which provided valuable information about career opportunities within the automotive engineering industry, was attended by students from various programs, including Electrical and Industrial Maintenance.

The event provided insights into the hiring process within the automotive engineering industry, including an in-depth understanding of Toyota Manufacturing’s specific requirements for prospective candidates.

“We are thrilled to have gathered students from multiple classes to engage directly with Actalent. Our students not only heard about exciting job opportunities closely related to their studies, but also made valuable connections with a company that can help fine-tune their resumes and facilitate the application process with such big-name companies as Toyota,” said BSCTC President, Dr. William Scott Rule. “This partnership aligns with our mission to provide quality education and foster career development.”

Instructors John Maynard, George Thornsbury, Joe Compton, and Charles Moore organized and facilitated the session, ensuring students received first-hand knowledge about the skills and qualifications needed to excel in the automotive engineering industry.

The engagement with Actalent is meant to strengthen the academic foundation of BSCTC’s students and to open doors to potential employment opportunities.
