Experience Kentucky with new Horses, Horsepower & Hollers Program

Six Kentucky tourism teams have partnered to launch a new tourism experience celebrating some of Kentucky’s most well-known attractions.

It’s called Horses, Horsepower & Hollers, and it features prebuilt itineraries that are perfect for families and groups traveling throughout the Bluegrass state.

About The Experience

The experiences range from weekend getaways to trips of four days and seven days.

From the thrilling world of motorsports and horse racing to the tranquil beauty of Kentucky’s hills and hollers, visitors will get an up-close look at what makes the Bluegrass state truly legendary.

This collaborative project is the undertaking of six tourism offices throughout Kentucky, including ShelbyKY, Bowling Green, Corbin, Franklin/Simpson County, Georgetown/Scott County, and Harlan.

Horses, Horsepower & Hollers highlights six key destinations that each offer a distinct blend of cultural, historical, and adventurous experiences.

“We are excited to launch Horses, Horsepower & Hollers and cannot wait for visitors to enjoy this new experience that showcases the best of Kentucky,” said Janette Marson, President and CEO of ShelbyKY Tourism. “We’re at our best when we recognize our shared strengths – this project is a celebration of what makes Kentucky an iconic destination.”

What To Expect

Attractions in the Horses, Horsepower & Hollers experience include:

  • Horse Farms, such as Old Friends Thoroughbred Farm, Willow Hope Farm, HorseSensing and West Meadow Farm.

“Georgetown, KY, is excited to join the Horses, Horsepower, and Hollers adventure, showcasing our town’s rich equestrian heritage, scenic horseback, mountain bike, hiking trails, and welcoming spirit,” said Lori Saunders from the Georgetown/Scott County Tourism Commission.  “We can’t wait for visitors to discover the unique experiences our community offers as part of the exciting journey across the state.”

To enhance the visitor experience, the tourism teams created a digital pass with Bandwango. The digital pass gamifies check-ins at various attractions across all six destinations, encouraging visitors to explore each location and stay overnight.

For visitors using the digital Bandwango pass, every attraction visit brings them closer to entering a sweepstakes. The grand prize includes a one-night stay in each destination, along with passes to various attractions and restaurant gift cards.
