Leapfrog Group recently issued its Fall 2024 Hospital Safety Grade rankings and Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) is among those in Kentucky scoring the highest.
HMH is one of 18 hospitals in Kentucky to receive an ‘A’ grade, a national distinction recognizing the hospital’s achievements protecting patients from harm and providing safer health care.
Testament To Quality Care
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization driven by employers and other purchasers of health care committed to improving health care quality and safety for consumers and purchasers.
The Safety Grade assigns an ‘A’, B’, C’, D’ or ‘F’ grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
“HMH is honored to be awarded an A for the Fall of 2024. Earning this award is a testament to the dedication and vigilance of our entire team,” said Kathy Tussey, HMH Chief Executive Officer. “Patient safety and quality is at the heart of everything we do, and this recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to providing the highest standards of care for every individual we serve.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States.
“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade is a significant accomplishment for Harrison Memorial Hospital,” said Leah Binder, President and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It reflects enormous dedication to your patients and their families, and your whole community should be proud. I extend my congratulations to HMH its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts to put patients first.”
