LGBTQIA+ Adult Prom Coming to Louisville: Here Are the Details

Pride Month is right around the corner and with it comes a new event for Louisville’s queer community.

Pride in Bloom: An LGBTQIA+ Adult Prom is planned for Friday, June 6.

Happening the first Friday in June, the event serves as a kickoff to Pride Month and the numerous Pride events happening throughout Derby City.

Additionally, the event acts as a fundraiser with proceeds from ticket sales benefiting the Louisville Pride Foundation, a charitable organization that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community and advances equity and representation for all people.

The Louisville Pride Foundation also produces the annual Louisville Pride Festival, a free community celebration held annually in September on Bardstown Road.

In fact, this year marks is the 10th anniversary of the festival, which will be held on Saturday, September 6.

Organizers of the event describe the theme as garden party meets Pride with a DJ, dancing, light bites and a cash bar.

Also, Pride in Bloom is for those who are queer identifying or queer friendly, so allies are encouraged to attend!

While there is no specific dress code for the event, it is an “adult prom” and tickets are for those 21+.

Details of Pride in Bloom are:

  • Where: The Butchertown Pointe
  • When: Friday, June 6
  • Time: 7pm-10pm
  • Cost: $20 a person
