Insights from a recent survey are revealing new details on what young professionals in Louisville want from their professional and personal lives.
The Young Professionals Association of Louisville (YPAL) teamed up with more than 15 Louisville organizations to create the Voice of YP survey. The survey called on young professionals to answer questions focused on growing efforts and opportunities for economic development, investment, talent attraction and retention for the future of Greater Louisville.
More than 700 young professionals participated in the survey. Now, the data is available for everyone to read.
“This data will help inform Louisville Metro Government’s policies and investments related to our economy and neighborhoods as the success of our city is dependent on retaining bright and talented young professionals who will lead our businesses, nonprofits, government, and educational institutions,” said Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg.
Recently, YPAL hosted the Voice of YP: Beyond the Numbers event where more than 170 people attended to learn more about the findings and hear directly from young community leaders about their personal experiences in Louisville.

“People often assume what young professionals want and need, without hearing young professionals’ voices,” said YPAL President Tanelle Sawyer. “This was an opportunity for us to unveil the data that we compiled.”
