SUN Behavioral Health Kentucky is now offering adult programming at its Lexington center.
The intensive outpatient center opened in July 2022 and serves those who are working to recover from substance use and mental health disorders in Fayette County and the surrounding Bluegrass area.
Focus On Mental Health
Starting in June, the services will be available to those in Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).
Offered Monday-Friday, the services will focus initially on mental health and dual diagnosis.
Most of the programming will be conducted in small-group settings of around 10 individuals.
“SUN’s clinicians recognize that therapy can be a difficult process, often causing anxiety and apprehension. We aim to alleviate these feelings by providing a warm, safe environment to engage in meaningful work and learn the skills necessary to return to baseline,” said Jared Dillow, LPP, Director of Outpatient Services, SUN Behavioral Health Lexington. “Intimate group settings can help participants feel more at ease sharing their experiences and allow clinicians ample opportunity to provide individualized attention and personalized treatment.”
Depending on community needs and requests, adult programming at the Center could be increased.
Multiple Services
Services at SUN Behavioral Health Lexington include group and family therapy, stress management, and trauma-informed treatment, all of which are individualized to meet the needs of the person seeking recovery.
Programming is conducted by licensed psychotherapists, nurses, and ancillary therapists, and includes cognitive behavioral therapy, coping skills training, and a wellness recovery action plan.
In addition to the Lexington center, SUN Behavioral Health operates a psychiatric hospital in Erlanger in partnership with St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
